What F Series BMW do I have?

You can identify your BMW’s F Series by checking the chassis code (e.g., F20, F30, F32), which is found on your VIN plate, service book, or registration documents. Each code links to a specific model and body style.

Where do I find my BMW chassis code?

Look at the VIN number (visible at the bottom of the windscreen or inside the driver’s door frame). The chassis code is usually shown in service history, logbooks, or can be decoded with a VIN tool.

What’s the difference between BMW F30 and F32?

The F30 is the 3 Series saloon (2012–2019), while the F32 is the 4 Series coupe from the same era. The F31 is the touring (estate) version, and the F33/F36 are the convertible and Gran Coupé.

What years were the BMW F Series made?

BMW F Series models were produced roughly between 2008 and 2020, before the newer G Series replaced them. Exact years depend on the model (for example, F30 ran from 2012–2019).

How do I know if my BMW has the M Sport package?

Check for M badging on the steering wheel, sport seats, a thicker body kit, and larger wheels. Inside, look for aluminium trim and an M Sport steering wheel. Your VIN will also confirm the option pack.

What is the difference between SE, Sport, and M Sport trims?

SE: Entry-level with comfort focus

  • Sport: Adds sportier styling, bigger wheels, firmer seats

  • M Sport: Aggressive styling, lower suspension, upgraded brakes, and M badging
